Dear Federal Managers:

The CFC would not happen without your support.  As your continued active support of and involvement in the CFC among your employees is vital to the success of the overall campaign, you are encouraged to:

  • Select an enthusiastic employee to serve as the CFC coordinator and organize a campaign among your employees
  • Allow time for 100% solicitation of employees
  • Recruit 1 keyworker for ever 20 employees.  Reduces overall time spent on the campaign and ensures 100% solicitation
  • Provide public endorsement of campaign through letters, e-mails and attendance at your agency’s kickoffs and rallies

For your convenience, following are some suggested communication pieces that can be used prior, during and at the end of the campaign.  Feel free to modify as necessary.  They include:

  • A message to your managers
  • A message to all your employees
  • Kickoff letter/e-mail blast to all employees
  • 2nd letter/e-mail blast to all employees
  • A mid-campaign letter/e-mail blast to all employees
  • Final campaign letter/e-mail blast to all employees

Agency head letter to managers

The annual CFC will begin on xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.  During this time, you will learn more about the needs of the world community and how we can all create meaningful results that positively impact our neighbors.  These results are the reason I annually renew my personal commitment to help those in need.

I am pleased to announce that our CFC coordinator is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.  As we look forward to another successful campaign, we need your support.  As our overall goal is to ensure 100% solicitation, I would like you to considering recruiting 1 keyworker for every 20 employees on your team.  This way, during the campaign, if each keyworker spends 10-15 minutes speaking to 1 employee in the morning and 1 employee in the afternoon, our campaign will be completed in less than 3 weeks with minimal interruption to our daily work.  Please forward the names of your keyworkers to xxxxxxxxxxxxx by (date).  Thank you so much for your support.

Dear fellow employee:

I invite you to join me in making an investment in the present and future well being of our global community through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).

The challenges we all face are numerous and complex.  Disaster relief, care for the  environment & animals, education and support for veterans just to name a few.

I fully support CFC and am proud of our organization’s commitment to support people in need through CFC.  Last year, CFC in Greater Los Angeles generated $3.63 million for charity thanks in part to x% of our own employees who pledge $ __.  Our goal this year is to increase our participation to x% and with your support this year, CFC supported charities will continue serving those in need.

Kickoff e-mail blast to all employees

2nd e-mail blast to all employees (video & website link)

What could you do with $5 a week?  Me, each week I could buy 1 hamburger meal, Starbucks coffee, 1 bag of popcorn or soft drink at the movies.

What could a CFC charity do with $5 a week?  Help purchase and protect 10 acres of rainforest, provide meals for 500 disasters victims, remove 30 pounds of trash, purchase a wheelchair for someone in need, outfit a dog to assist a blind individual or raise 2 falcons to maturity.

You can use the new website to search for those charities that will use your $5 effectively to create a local or global impact.  The site can also be used to complete your pledge form.  Keep in mind that the site employs the highest security software available.  It should also be noted that the lost of most personal information is not through hacking into websites, but through the lost of data storage media like hard drives, laptops, and jump drives.  We promise to keep your personal information secure and we actually delete all personal data when the campaign year is complete.  So go ahead and try the website.  We are confident that you'll find it easy to navigate and a great place to learn more about the CFC.
